“Our Mission is that of being of immediate but effective service to
the homeless in all their needs, material and spiritual, until they
can find some others who can help them in a better and more lasting
way”. |

Dear Friends in Christ,
Mother Teresa said that the poor are hungry, but more than food, they need
love.
This pantry opened on March 3rd, serving six people that day. Five months
later we are serving over 150 Breakfast Bags each Friday and Saturday. The
Pantry has been blessed with many volunteers and many generous donations. It
has grown to be a safe place for those street people to come and have
someone to talk to and get a simple meal. Each day they gather in our
backyard behind the pantry and enjoy the beautiful Marion Garden landscaped
by Paul Houser, Troop 21, as an eagle Scott Project and sit on the four
large picnic tables built by Clay Vaughn, Troop 21, another Eagle Scott
Project. Through this pantry, many of the basic needs of the homeless on the
streets each week are met.
In July, we opened a clothes pantry next door. This will allow those
homeless to receive clean clothes, shoes, hygiene products and also provide
a place for them to gather during the winter months. A washer and dryer will
be put in to clean winter blankets so they may be re-issued. In the future
we plan to put a small chapel inside too.
I would like to thank everyone, who has helped in any way to make this
pantry a possibility. It is a blessing for all serve and all who visit here.
Please feel free to call me 820-5345 anytime if you have any questions.
God Bless You,
Sister Barbara Joseph
